There is no source given in the record, but it was in the database unapproved when I took over from Max Beggs. I could find no known source for this. There is a birth record: FERGUSON JOHN H 28383/1910 JOHN LILLIAN M WEST MAITLAND that matches first name, initial, location and year, and mother's name does not match, but is plausibly a misspelling. However, a marriage record for the parents 8180/1909 FERGUSON JOHN BLACKFORD LILLIAN M HAMILTON shows that this mother's surname is not Mills and her first name is consistently spelled across records. I do not have enough background on the family to check this further, so I'm approving pro. tem. and it should be rechecked.
